Worship

I find it odd that people will do almost anything to get an autograph from their favorite athlete. People will pay extra money to go behind the scenes to meet their favorite musicians. When I was a kid I was that way with pro wrestlers. I had all the stats, all the magazines, and a bunch of autographs. Worship is when you put something or someone above everything else. What we worship is what we put at the center of our choices. Jesus said, seek first the kingdom of God and everything will be as it should be.

There have been times and if I’m honest there are still some times when the focus of my worship isn’t where it should be. Sometimes on Sunday morning, I come to church worried about what has happened in the previous week or even the previous hour and that worry steals my worship. Choosing to worship Christ means I put all that stuff aside and focus all of my attention on who He is and what He has done. He is worthy of our worship.

Psalms 95 NKJV

vs.1 “O come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.”

vs. 3 “For the Lord is the great God and the great King above all gods.”

Psalms 96:4

“For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised.”

This Sunday, come to church with a heart ready to worship the Lord.
