Youth Ministry for Middle School (7th & 8th grades) and High School (9th through 12th grades). Our Youth Ministry believes every middle and high school student is important for carrying out Bald Mountain’s mission of being a praying church that is a light in the community for the purpose of glorifying God, teaching the Bible, making disciples, loving and encouraging people, and reaching the lost for Christ. We believe God is working in Ashe County and that young people are at the heart of this work.

It is our desire to help you live for Jesus “rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith”(Colossians 2:6-7).

We do this by offering students exciting opportunities for worship, small group bible study, social events, personal discipleship, mission trips, retreats, and serving the church in different ways. On Sunday and Wednesday we have different opportunities for you to hang out with friends and get to know other people while learning to live for Jesus from God’s Word.

Parents: If we are going to see the lives of middle and high school students changed by Jesus, we believe we need to partner with parents. Youth today are influenced by a variety of messages, but NO ONE HAS MORE INFLUENCE IN A TEEN’S LIFE than their PARENTS. Knowing this, we want to be a partnership that equips parents to leads youth to love and know Jesus. We value communication with parents and welcome their involvement in our ministry events.

When we meet:

Sunday Mornings:

  • Bible Study Groups (co-ed): 9:00 am in the Youth Room
  • Worship Service: 10:00 am

Sunday Nights: (Temporarily postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions)

  • Discipleship Equip Classes: 6:00 pm at various locations throughout the church

Wednesday Nights:

  • Small Groups: 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Youth Room
    • We believe that discipleship is at the heart of all we do as a church and it is done primarily through relationships. There is a guys and girl group that meets during this time to discuss life issues from a biblical viewpoint to help you live for Jesus in every area of life. Four tasks are accomplished in these groups:
      • Celebrate: we praise Jesus for the victories, answered prayers and anything else He did over the past week
      • Obey: we study God’s Word together to hear from Him and obey His Word
      • Process: we talk through ways to apply the Word that will help us live for Jesus throughout the week.
      • Pray: we finish our time by praying for one another and for others to come to know Jesus

Where to serve:

We believe that each member in the church is important and should take part in the church as a whole. We want to help you find a place where your gifts, talents and passions can be used to serve others.
