Myra Phillips, Ministry Assistant

I grew up in a small Baptist Church in the southern foothills of NC, and came to know Christ at an early age. Only later in life, after the sudden death of my spouse at the age of 27, and the subsequent ‘single parenting’ of three small children, did I truly come to realize the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord.  Throughout those difficult and sometimes very lonely times, I came to depend on the presence of God in my life.  I am now married to David, my     soul- mate and special gift from God. We have a blended family of five children and thirteen grandchildren. We are members of the North Carolina Baptist Singers and Orchestra and enjoy the outdoors, music, reading, and travel.
We have been members at BMBC since 1999, and I have been employed in the church office since October of 2006.  In April of 2011, I received certification as a Professional Ministry Assistant. I consider it a deep honor and privilege to serve alongside the Pastors, staff, and family of believers at Bald Mountain.
One of my favorite scripture passages is Galatians 6:9   “and let us not grow weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not.”
Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:24, 25)
